On May 31st, 2022, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Harrison County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a call from a Complainant regarding a shooting that had just occurred in the 7000 block of US Hwy 59 North, Marshall. The Complainant identified the shooter as Jason Davis, providing a vehicle description and direction of travel.
A responding HCSO Patrol Deputy located a vehicle matching the description, which resulted in a traffic stop being conducted in the 300 block of N. East End Blvd., inside the City of Marshall. Upon contact with the driver, he was identified as Jason Davis, 38, of Marshall. Davis was immediately placed under arrest for a minor traffic infraction pending the criminal investigation.
The Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene of the shooting. Once on scene, Investigators and Crime Scene Investigators began processing the shooting scene and conducting interviews.
The investigation resulted in Davis being charged with two counts of Deadly Conduct Discharge of Firearm. Davis was transported to the Harrison County Jail, where the booking process was completed.
Sheriff Fletcher stated, “I’m thankful no one was severely injured today due to Mr. Davis’s reckless conduct. I am proud we were able to quickly and safely take him into custody without further acts of violence.”
