City of Marshall to open a cooling center at Central Fire Station

The City of Marshall is opening a cooling center for the extreme heat.

The center will be available for people to come and beat the heat from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. The cooling center is in the Central Fire Station community room at 601 S Grove.

“Right now, we are playing it by ear on how long the cooling center will be open, but at least until we have some relief from the extreme daily temperatures,” said Marshall Fire Chief Reggie Cooper.

If you know someone unable to escape the dangerously hot conditions we are experiencing, please encourage them to visit the cooling center.
