Jefferson’s Sarah Hobbs scores another Top 10 Texas hit

Sarah Hobbs has another Top 10 Texas hit on her hands, with her current single “That Way” reaching number 10 this week on the Texas Country Music Charts.

Hobbs said “That Way” is about two people who meet and aren’t available or are just not ready for something, or they might not realize they are ready. It’s about taking a chance on something that could be the best relationship they have ever had because of the instant connection, or it may go nowhere. She says the song can also be spun about someone you have known a long time but never looked at a certain way until one day, out of the clear blue, you don’t see them as just a friend but much more.

“That Way” has incredible danceability and has become a favorite in dance halls across Texas.

“I wrote this song back in 2015, and I’m so thankful for it to finally have its time,” said Hobbs.

Hobbs, from Jefferson, has been touring Texas and the surrounding states since 2014. She has gone abroad with “Texas Music Takeover” in London, England, and “Texas Red Dirt Pub Crawl” in Dublin, Ireland. She has also played at the South Iceland Country Music Festival as a featured artist, and recently returned from playing several shows in Europe. She comes from a family of musicians dating back to the early 1900s. Her great grandfather, uncles, cousins and dad all played, and Hobbs was destined to follow in their footsteps. She has a passion for old country music, and when you hear her talk, you’ll know why. Her songwriting comes from life experiences, both good and bad, and when she sings, you can guarantee it’s from her heart.

Hobbs started releasing songs to radio during 2016 and has released six singles. With the addition of “That Way,” four of them have become Top 10 Texas hits. She released her EP, “Texas Made,” in 2018. In 2022 she was nominated for two Texas Regional Radio Report Music Awards. Hobbs is nominated for numerous Texas Country Music Association (TCMA) awards, including Female Artist of the Year and Country Single of the Year. The TCMA Awards show is on November 13, 2022 at Billy Bob’s in the Ft. Worth Stockyards. Hobbs has been featured on many other artists’ records for duets and co-writes. Currently, she is featured on Bryndyn Kyle’s latest release, “Regret.”

“That Way” can be heard now on Texas radio stations and is available on all streaming platforms.
