Carter Bloodcare’s MASH BASH blood drive returns over a two-day period on July 19 and 20. The goal is to boost the community blood supply during summer when blood needs can become urgent if blood donors are in short supply. This annual blood drive has a history of turning out the donors needed to help maintain a sufficient supply of blood for local hospital patients.
Blood donors at this year’s MASH BASH blood drives will be entered into drawings for gift cards and other prizes.
MASH BASH dates and times:
11 am to 7 pm Tuesday, July 19
11 am to 7 pm Wednesday, July 20
at The Marshall Marshall Convention Center
Potential blood donors may volunteer beginning at age 16 with a parent’s consent; 17-year-olds may give independently and there is no upper age limit for giving blood. All donors must weigh at least 110 pounds, feel well on the day of donation and present a government-issued photo ID each time they give blood. It’s also a good idea to eat a nutritious meal and drink plenty of water before giving blood.
The blood drive is supported by The Greater Marshall Chamber of Commerce, Carter Bloodcare, The City of Marshall and KMHT Radio.
