A fire on Sunday night burned seven acres just west of Marshall on W. Houston Street/FM 3379. Marshall Fire Chief Reggie Cooper described the blaze as a “fairly large grassfire.” He said the fire might have started from a passing train.
“The fire did stretch onto CABOT’s property but left no real damage,” Cooper said.
Marshall Fire, Nesbitt Fire, ESD # 4 and Texas A&M Forest Service personnel responded. The fire was 100% contained by shortly after midnight on Monday morning.
